Workers’ compensation mediation may be necessary

Were you injured on the job? Did you file a workers' compensation claim?

If you answered yes to both questions, you hope to receive benefits without delay. You can then use this money to pay your bills and get by while you recover from your injury.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that your workers' compensation claim will be approved.

In the event that you're unable to settle your workers' compensation case, you may need to move forward with mediation. With this, you have the opportunity to present your case to the judge, including why you think you should receive benefits.

The legal team for the insurance company will also explain its position, doing their best to show why you should not be compensated for your injury.

From there, the judge will review the information and then meet with both parties. The goal of this process is simple: to help you and the insurance company agree to settlement terms. Typically, this includes a lump sum payment.

A case cannot be settled through workers' compensation mediation unless both sides agree.

At our law firm, we have helped many people receive compensation for a workplace injury. In some cases, workers' compensation mediation is required.

In a perfect world, a claim for workers' compensation benefits would be approved with payments beginning shortly thereafter. However, this doesn't always happens. Instead, there are times when an insurance company denies a claim.

If you find yourself in this position, it's good to know that workers' compensation mediation is an option. This may be all you need in order to reach an agreement.
