On behalf of our workers’ compensation team here at Marzzacco Niven and Associates, we hope that you are well and staying safe during these stressful times.
As you may know, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has ordered the closure of all state government offices for a period of 14 days, effective March 17th 2020.
While this has resulted in all hearings and mediations being canceled during this period, our office remains open and we continue to work remotely moving cases forward by scheduling depositions and otherwise negotiating resolutions. Additionally, although State offices are closed, we still have the ability to schedule telephonic settlement hearings on any case that resolves during this time period.
We are also accepting new workers’ compensation clients! During the shutdown, we have continued to file new claims, which are still being assigned to judges. Workers Compensation Insurance companies also continue to issue wage-loss checks and are making payments for work-related injury medical treatment.
It is our hope that Workers Compensation State offices will reopen after March 31st and that they will immediately schedule hearings on new claims as well as reschedule any cancelled hearings or mediations in an expeditious fashion.
In the interim, we continue to diligently work on our cases and remain available at any time to communicate by phone, email, and text messaging to answer any of your questions or concerns.
