Long before civil authorities ordered the closure of business offices due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our office was prepared to maintain the orderly handling of claims for Social Security Disability benefits, while allowing attorneys and staff members to work remotely and with due regard for social distancing requirements. Making use of up-to-the-minute technology, we have been able to preserve the uninterrupted flow of work, filing claims for benefits on behalf of new clients and appealing denials of benefits in existing cases. We continue to gather and submit evidence in support of claims. We remain available to clients by telephone and e-mail.
Social Security field offices and judge’s offices have been closed to visitors for over a week. Nevertheless, we remain in daily contact with officials at all levels, keeping up with the many changes that have been made to preserve the flow of work. We have the capacity to monitor the status of each claim on a daily basis, and we remain open to every opportunity to resolve claims favorably.
The COVID-19 outbreak has presented many challenges to each of us. It may be quite a while before we see the end of this crisis, but we remain committed to maintaining our customary level of excellence in handling disability claims for our clients.
