During the COVID 19 shutdown, our lawyers are using communications technology to provide continuous, uninterrupted representation for our clients. Although this strange time has affected the physical operations of the firm, we have truly realized that in this day and age our technology allows us to continue to help the injured, ill and disabled people that rely on us each day.
At the time of this writing, we continue to accept new clients via the use of cell phone, “FaceTime,” “Zoom,” “Docusign” and other communication modes. Every lawyer and support staff person receives every phone call each day, thanks to our call-forwarding technology through Comcast. Through remote desktop capabilities, each lawyer and staff can access each client’s files 24-7. Since the start of the shutdown, we have scanned, emailed, faxed, sent text messages and called clients everyday—thanks to technology.
Our lawyers have continued to conduct court proceedings through video and other technology, settling numerous cases for injured workers in Workers’ Compensation claims, including a recent settlement achieved in a Mediation using video conferencing technology that resulted in the client receiving $170,000.00. Zoom has been utilized successfully in Personal Injury matters as well, with Attorney Marzzacco resolving a case last week for $250,000.00 for a car crash victim. And finally, our Social Security lawyers have been able to represent numerous clients at hearings via phone conference technology, achieving favorable decisions as recently as last week.
We are hopeful to return to full, physical operations in early May. But, if safety requires continued isolation, Marzzacco Niven & Associates will continue to help our clients… through technology.
