Attorney Christopher Marzzacco: Experience and Results in Personal Injury Claims

Attorney Christopher Marzzacco has been co-counsel in several complex product liability and commercial vehicle crash cases that have resulted in confidential, multimillion-dollar awards and settlements for his clients that cannot be listed here, per court order or agreement. However, some of his many personal successes in other personal injury claims include:

$2,150,000 for a young woman permanently injured in a car crash caused by a teenage driver in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Before Attorney Marzzacco filed suit and got involved, the insurance company would not offer more than $600,000 to resolve the case.

$1,850,000 for the family of a young man killed by a commercial truck in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

$1,625,000 for the spouse of a man operating his motorcycle who was struck by a pickup truck in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

$1,500,000 for the parents and children of a young woman from Pennsylvania killed by a distracted driver in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

$1,265,000 for the parents of a woman killed in a car crash caused by a DUI driver. The crash took place on Route 81 in Lebanon County.

$1,015,000 for a man operating his motorcycle who was paralyzed from the chest down when a commercial vehicle driver and crew failed to secure a piece of equipment properly. The crash took place in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.

$1,000,000 for a tractor trailer driver who was severely injured after his cab was struck by a wheel that had sheered off from another tractor trailer in York, Pennsylvania.

Raising A Voice: Workers’ Compensation Attorneys Fighting For Injured Workers

Our workers’ compensation attorneys have helped injured workers get the benefits they deserved, often through litigating because employers’ insurance companies had denied their claims. Historically, we have obtained numerous settlements and awards exceeding $200,000 for our clients. Some recent workers’ compensation results include:

$300,000.00 settlement for a 60 year old power plant worker, who sustained an amputation of his hand at work.  Although the hand was re-attached, the employee sustained such permanent damage to his hand that he was unable to return to work and our firm successfully negotiated a settlement of future wage loss with open medical treatment.

$255,928.00  settlement – for a horse trainer, who sustained multiple body crush injuries when a horse rolled over him.  We ensured that multiple medical procedures and treatment was received and then obtained for him a wage loss and medical benefits settlement when he was unable to return to work as a result of permanent work injury restrictions.

$240,000 settlement for a boom truck operator who suffered head and spinal injuries after a fall from his work truck in the rain. The insurance carrier accepted responsibility for minor injuries, and refused to pay for related medical treatment. We defended his claim against allegations that he was fully recovered from the injury, and ensured his medical bills were paid, and resolved the case with a $240,000 settlement.

$230,000 settlement for a crane operator with 14 years of work experience, who sustained a significant right foot injury after a barrier fell on his foot. While the insurance carrier initially accepted liability, our firm was able to get subsequent surgeries covered and related periods of wage loss for our client, and negotiated a lump sum settlement of $230,000.

$222,580 settlement for a lifelong automobile mechanic, sustained serious head, neck, and lower back injuries when he struck his head on a car lift and fell to the ground. While the insurance carrier accepted liability, the company subsequently contested extensive medical treatment, which our law firm successfully litigated as “reasonable and necessary,” and then negotiated a lump sum settlement of $222,580.

$215,000 settlement for a tractor-trailer driver, who injured his lower back at work when he fell repairing his vehicle and sustained permanent injuries. The insurance company’s doctor believed our client had fully recovered from his work injury, but the client clearly was still work-disabled. After many discussions and legal maneuvers, our firm was able to negotiate a lump-sum settlement of $214,000.

$206,000 settlement for a store manager who suffered injuries to her back and shoulder in work-injuries. The insurance carrier failed to pay for surgeries, hoping to pass the burden of paying for vital treatment to the injured worker. We successfully demonstrated the relationship of these conditions through expert medical evidence, and the medical bills were paid, in addition to the $206,000 lump sum, in a settlement.

$200,000 settlement for a lifelong over-the-road truck driver, who sustained a career ending hip injury for which the insurance carrier denied liability. We filed a claim petition, which was litigated to a favorable decision, and then we subsequently negotiated a lump sum settlement of $200,000.

$200,000 settlement for a tractor trailer driver, who was in a weather-related MVA. He had accepted head and neck injuries for which he was receiving workers’ compensation wage loss and medical benefits. The insurance carrier attempted to terminate his benefits by alleging he was fully recovered. Instead, our law firm was able to negotiate a lump sum settlement of $200,000.

$200,000 settlement for a certified nursing assistant who was injured when he slipped and fell, injuring his lower back, which ultimately required surgery. He was unable to return to his pre-injury job as a certified nursing assistant; however, his employer sought to reduce his wage loss benefits by showing work was available within his capabilities. Our firm defended him in this litigation and was able to secure him a $200,000 settlement.

$200,000 settlement for a 60 year old truck delivery driver, who sustained a very serious head injury an bilateral wrist fractures when he fell off a ladder while preparing his delivery truck. While the insurance carrier accepted liability, he was unable to return to work due to the lingering residual symptoms from his injuries and our firm negotiated a lump sum settlement of $200,000.

$200,000 settlement for a 51 year old delivery truck driver with 24 years of experience with his company, who sustained a right knee injury while making a delivery.  After attempting to work modified duty without success, he went out of work for knee surgery and after being unable to return to full duty work, our law firm was able to negotiate a lump sum settlement of $200,000.

$185,000 settlement for a truck driver who suffered arm injuries to his elbow and shoulder resulting in a series of surgeries. The insurance carrier accepted liability for the elbow injury only, but then failed to pay partial wage loss benefits when he went back to work with reduced earnings. Further, treatment was denied for the shoulder, as the insurance company alleged those problems were pre-existing. We were able to prove the relationship of the elbow and shoulder injuries, and resolve the case with a $185,000 settlement.

$175,000 settlement for an IT tech lead, with 16 years of work experience, who sustained a significant low back injury after falling while repairing a router.  Despite good faith treatment and attempts to return to modified duty work, he was unable to return to full duty, and our law firm negotiated a lump sum settlement of $175,000.

$160,000 settlement for an injured factory worker who suffered traumatic injuries to his shoulder performing heavy-duty lifting. The insurance carrier denied any responsibility for the injury, as he had a previous injury to the shoulder playing football with his children. The case was litigated in front of a Workers’ Compensation Judge who awarded him past-due and ongoing benefits, then later resulted in a settlement.

$150,000 settlement for a school custodian who injured her back lifting trash into a garbage disposal unit. Her employer voluntarily commenced payment of wage and medical loss benefits and shortly after sent her to a defense medical examination. The doctor stated she was fully recovered from the work injury. The school filed a termination petition to end her entitlement to benefits. Our office was able to defend her in this litigation, and she was able to proceed with a contested surgery. Our firm ultimately secured her a $150,000 settlement.
